Essay on Masculinity, Fatherhood and Feminism
These days is really important to think about the construction of masculinity.
Until some years ago, the word feminism was almost unknown and men have been feeling superior and doing whatever they want in front of women and children.
Most of our generation have been rised by old fashioned fathers, mostly because they grew up in a world full of misogyny and male chauvinism which makes they try to instill the same principles to their children, in other words, us. In this case, male chauvinism only repeats itself generation after generation.

I think, the construction of masculinity is directly connected with fatherhood, because every child is marked in some way by his father, even if he is not present during childhood.
So, it's important to think about modern fatherhood, and how this male figure can configurate the way the children is going to behave in the future and reproduce or not the same experience of being a man.
In our times, feminism has taken a lot of power. It's no more an unknown word and there's no more excuses for lack of information, nowadays it's a task for men to have, at least, a correct behaviour. It's a task for men to think about masculinity and question it and its privileges, that only comes with being born male.
